YOG NIDRA … CHANGES YOUR LIFE AT CELLULAR LEVEL

MEANING:
As the name suggests, Yog Nidra is a Yogic Sleep where one is sleeping while being internally conscious.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NIDRA AND YOG NIDRA:

Yog Nidra is different from Nidra ( sleeping ) with respect to the state of mind.
When we sleep on daily basis, we sleep with our mind carrying conflicts and tensions of day to day life.
During Yog Nidra, we sleep without any conflicts and tensions.
It is an interesting practice where we can monitor or access the higher centres of the body.

HOW TO PRACTICE :
1. Preparation of Practice :🙏

Performed in Shavasana
Palms facing upwards
Comfortable clothes
Optimal temperature of the room is maintained

 

2. RESOLVE:😇

Choose or define a resolution
Do not expect results overnight

 

3.SCANNING THE BODY:👥

Move your awareness to each part of the body, from head to toe or vice versa.

 

4.DRAWING ATTENTION TO THE BREATH: 🌬

Count the breaths mentally. Awareness of breath promotes relaxation and also awakens higher energy centres and directs them to each cell of the body.

 

5. FEELINGS AND SENSATIONS:🙌

Pair your feelings during Yog Nidra. It harmonizes the opposite hemispheres of the brain and further balances our basic drives and controls functions that are normally unconscious.

 

6. VISUALISATION:🙋

We can visualise our future and create it in reality by acting in harmony with it. We can heal our relationships,physical and emotional aspects with Visualisation . Visualisation develops self awareness. In advanced stages it develops into DHYANA or PURE MEDITATION.

 

7. ENDING THE PRACTICE:🙏

End with the resolve again. Make sure that the resolve is stated clearly and positively.

 

EPILOGUE:

Through Yog Nidra we can train our subconscious mind by CONSISTENT PRACTICE ( ABHYASA ) and STRONG AFFIRMATIONS .
